Book Review - The Kite Runner
The kite runner is a debut novel by Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini published in the year 2003.
The best part about this novel are the characters and the story that holds the curiosity and each chapter contains several emotions, someone can easily relate with all the scenarios that the writer is trying to describe as we all have experienced such emotions in our life.
The story revolves around the main character Amir, a sixteen-year-old boy living a luxurious life in Afghanistan with his father, servant Ali and his son Hasan. Hasan is of the same age as Amir and they both grew together and they are good friends. Amir is trying hard to become the best son so that his father will praise him and will feel proud of him.
The starting part of the story seems happy and can increase your excitement a bit more but then suddenly the story takes its biggest plot and it feels like the whole world around you changes in a moment. Throughout the story, the author tries to explain the nature of each character and while reading the story you may find that the author is trying to give justice to every character.
One of the reasons the novel is a best seller is because the author has mentioned opposite personalities and their unbelievable connections in life. In the entire novel, you will feel like you are reading a real story as it seems extremely real and pure but it is half fiction. The center of the attraction is the evolution of the main character through the journey of life and the connection between past and future.
In the mid part of the novel, it is a bit boring since the life of the main character becomes normal and we feel something is missing. You will understand what you are missing once you read the novel. The ordinary life of the main character seems a bit boring as I felt it is plain and straightforward. In this mid part, someone might feel not going further but the upcoming plot is just on the next level and amazing. This part checks the patience of the reader.
In the end, I feel like everyone should read this book to understand the deeply hidden life lessons that we tend to forget in the journey of our life.
